About Us
The Commonwealth Pharmacists Association (CPA) is the professional body for pharmacists in the 56 countries of the Commonwealth, made up of dozens of national pharmacy associations. Registered as a charity in England and Wales, accredited by the Commonwealth of Nations and working in official relations with the World Health Organisation, CPA has evolved from a member association into a high impact international development organisation.
Since 1969, CPA has helped over 400,000 pharmacists around the world - but especially in low income countries in Africa and Asia - to strengthen their skills, expertise and knowledge for the benefit of patients. Today, CPA delivers high impact partnership programmes to tackle the burden of antimicrobial resistance in two dozen countries, and runs the CPA Academy, a global empowerment hub that provides accessible CPD to pharmacists in countries where learning opportunities are lacking.
